On this episode we honor Deputy Jerry Ortiz of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Deputy Ortiz died in the line-of-duty on June 24th, 2005.
We talk to his brother, Art Ortiz, about who Deputy Ortiz a person and as a deputy. Art shares how he got through the toughest times of this tragedy by his faith and by the support of his family and friends.
We also want to honor Art's brother-in-law, Officer Manuel Gonzalez who was a California Corrections officer. Officer Gonzalez died in the line-of-duty 6-months prior to Deputy Ortiz passing away.
May they both rest in peace. As Art puts it, they are both "Eternally on Watch."
